Lontar : Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi is committed to ensuring that editorial decisions, peer-review assessments, and published research are not unduly influenced by personal, professional, financial, or institutional interests.
A conflict of interest exists when secondary interests may reasonably be perceived to influence the professional judgment, objectivity, or responsibilities of an author, reviewer, or editor.
Authors must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could influence the research, its interpretation, or the preparation of the manuscript.
Relevant conflicts may include, but are not limited to:
If no conflicts of interest exist, authors should include the following statement in their manuscript:
“The authors declare that they have no conflicts of interest related to the research, authorship, or publication of this article.”
All disclosed conflicts will be assessed by the editorial team to determine whether further action or disclosure is necessary.
Reviewers must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.
Reviewers should decline the assignment if a conflict may compromise their impartiality. They must also maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished information for personal or professional advantage.
Editors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their editorial judgment.
An editor who has a conflict concerning a submitted manuscript must not participate in decisions relating to that manuscript. The manuscript should be assigned to another qualified editor who can handle the review independently.
Editors must ensure that manuscripts are assessed fairly, based on scholarly merit and relevance to the journal's scope.
Authors must acknowledge all relevant sources of financial or material support for the research. The role of the funding organization, where applicable, should be disclosed if it influenced the research design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, or publication decision.
The editorial team will evaluate disclosed conflicts and determine appropriate measures, which may include additional disclosures, reassignment of reviewers or editors, or other steps necessary to protect the integrity of the editorial process.
Failure to disclose a relevant conflict of interest may result in editorial action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
Lontar : Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi is committed to transparency, fairness, and accountability in managing conflicts of interest throughout the publication process.
