Reference Management

LONTAR: Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi requires authors to adhere to the following guidelines for reference management:

  1. Citation Style: All references must be formatted according to the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th edition style. This includes in-text citations and the reference list at the end of the manuscript.
  2. Reference Management Software: Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero, or RefWorks to ensure accuracy and consistency in formatting references. These tools help organize, cite, and generate bibliographies in the required style.
  3. In-Text Citations: In-text citations should include the author's last name and the year of publication, with page numbers for direct quotes. For example:
    •    (Author's Last Name, Year)
    •    (Author's Last Name, Year, p. Page Number)
  4. Reference List: The reference list should be arranged alphabetically by the first author's last name. Each entry should include:
    •    Author(s) or editor(s) last name, initials.
    •    Year of publication.
    •    Title of the work (in sentence case).
    •    Title of the journal or book (in title case and italicized).
    •    Volume number (italicized) and issue number (in parentheses, not italicized) for journal articles.
    •    Page range for journal articles or book chapters.
    •    Publisher's name and location for books.
    •    DOI or URL for online sources.
  5. Consistency: Ensure all references are cited in the text and listed in the reference section, and vice versa. Consistency in formatting is crucial for the clarity and professionalism of the manuscript.
  6. Accuracy: Authors are responsible for the accuracy of their references. Please double-check all citations and references for correct spelling, punctuation, and formatting.
  7. Supplementary Materials: If your article includes supplementary materials, these should also be cited in the text and listed in the reference section if they are from external sources.
  8. Language: References should be in English. If the source is in another language, provide the English translation of the title in brackets after the original title.
