The Sawala Sawala Administrasi Negara is published by the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences, Political Science and Law, Serang Raya University. This journal was founded in 2012 covering 5 (five) fields of social and political science - regional autonomy, politics, democracy, and organizational performance.

We published the first, second, and third editions in 2012, 2013, and 2014 in one volume each, only in 2014 until now the Sawala journal has published 2 editions in each volume. During the period 2012 to 2016 all articles were only published in Indonesian with the printed version ISSN 2302-2221.

In 2017, Journal Sawala Administrasi Negara has a new management organizational structure and editorial board and is published twice a year, namely in April for Volume 5 Number 1 and Volume 5 Number 2 for October and is officially published online by e-ISSN 2598 - 4039.

Since Volume 7 Number 1 of 2019 the publishing schedule has changed from April and October to January-June and July-December, this is done to make adjustments to learning activities, research, and the situation of the study program. The important goal of this change is that the Journal Sawala Administrasi Negara effectively make a significant contribution to the development of science and society.
