Author Guidelines

General Author Guidelines

Articles submitted for publication must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Articles should be original, unpublished, and not under review for possible publication in other journals.
  • Articles submitted should be based on research, whether library-based, fieldwork-based, or other scholarly research methods.
  • Articles must be submitted in English or Indonesian.
  • Articles should be approximately 8,000–12,000 words (excluding references and bibliographies). Manuscripts must use Sitkabaner font, size 12, with 1.25 spacing on A4 paper, and margins of 3 cm on all sides.
  • All submissions must be in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or WordPerfect document file formats. Other formats, such as PDFs, will not be accepted.
  • Articles must include the following components: 1) title in English and Indonesian; 2) author name(s) (without academic titles), affiliation(s), and email address(es); 3) abstract in English and Indonesian; 4) keywords in English adn Indonesian; 5) introduction; 6) Research Methods; 7) discussion; 8) conclusion; and 9) bibliography.
  • Each submission must include the full name of the author(s), institutional affiliation, and a valid contactable email address. A maximum of four authors is permitted per article.
  • All submissions must include an abstract of 150–250 words.
  • Tables or diagrams must be sequentially numbered, with the title and number placed above them. Tables should be centered on the page, with single-spaced content and bold headings.
  • Foreign words or phrases should be italicized. Arabic–Latin transliteration must follow the style of the Jurnal HAK: Kajian Ilmu Hukum, Administrasi Negara, dan Komunikasi.
  • The bibliography must consist of relevant primary sources (such as books, manuscripts, interviews, or observations) and updated secondary sources from books or peer-reviewed journals.
  • Bibliographical references must appear in both footnotes and the bibliography, following the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition (Notes and Bibliography). The bibliography must be arranged alphabetically.

  • For citation and bibliography formatting, authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Zotero or Mendeley.

  • Authors are strongly encouraged to consult the Reviewer Guidelines to ensure that their manuscripts meet the journal’s academic standards, structural requirements, and analytical expectations prior to submission.
