Mathematical communicaion skills are one of the essential competencies in mathematics learning; however, they are still relatively low among junior high school students. Therefore, a learning model that encourages student’s active involvement and is supported by interactive learning media is needed. This study aimed to examine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Wordwall media on students' mathematical communication skills. Through the implementation of contextual problems and the use of interactive media, students are expected to be able to express mathematical ideas, understand symbols, and interpret mathematical arguments effectively. This research employed a quantitave approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 31 seventh-grade students at a private junior high school in Peundeuy District. Data were collected through a mathematical communication skills test consisting of five essay questions. The results showed a significant difference between students’ mathematical communication skills before and after the implementation of the PBL model assisted by Wordwall media (sig. = 0,000 < 0,05), with an average N-Gain score of 0,52 categorized as moderate. These findings indicate that the PBL model assisted by Wordwall media is effective in improving junior high school students’ mathematical communication skills.
