Abstract

Advancements in information technology have driven efficiency across various sectors, including the laundry industry. In Lhokseumawe City, the high number of students and workers has created a significant demand for fast and efficient laundry services. However, the process of finding laundry services is still conducted manually, making it impractical and time-consuming. This study develops a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) designed to help users easily locate the nearest laundry services with high accuracy and efficiency. The system was developed using the Waterfall model and implements the Steepest Ascent Hill Climbing algorithm to determine the optimal route to the destination. Technologies used include HTML, CSS, React JS, and Express. Data were collected through observations and interviews with students and laundry business owners. The system presents an interactive map with comprehensive information such as location, photos, pricing, and contact details. Based on testing, 91% of users rated the system design as excellent, 91% were satisfied with the ease of search, 93% found the system efficient, and 92% considered it effective in helping them find suitable laundry services. This system not only facilitates public access to laundry services but also helps business owners increase their visibility and reach in the Lhokseumawe area through digital means.
