Publication Ethics
Publication of Ethics and Malpractice Statements
Jurnal Sains Manajemen is an electronic national journal that has been assessed by bestary partners (peer reviewed). This statement describes the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing articles in this journal, including authors, main editors, the Editorial Board, peers, and publishers (Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, UNSERA). This statement is based on the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
Publication of articles in the Journal of Management Science involving partners is an important publication medium in that it publicizes the results of quality and respected scientific research. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the author's work and the institution that supports it. It is crucial that everyone involved in the publishing process, including authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers, and the general public, can agree on the ethical standards that should be upheld
The Management Study Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Serang Raya, as the publisher of Management Sciences, takes its guardianship over all stages of publishing very seriously, and we are aware of our ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprints, and other commercial revenues do not impact or influence editorial decisions.
Publication decision
The Sains Manajemen Editor is responsible for determining what articles should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers should always drive such decisions. The editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by legal requirements such as those applicable in the future for libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editors may speak with other editors and reviewers to make these decisions.
Fair play
An editor at all times evaluates manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy of the authors.
Privacy
Editors and any editorial staff should not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, and other appropriate editorial advisors.
Disclosure and conflict of interest
Unpublished material disclosed in the submitted manuscript may not be used in research for the editor's own benefit without the written consent of the author.
Reviewer Duties:
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review helps editors make editorial decisions, and communicating with authors can also help authors improve their manuscripts.
Speed
Any appointed reviewer who feels unqualified to review a manuscript assigned by the editor or knows that a brief review would be impossible should notify the editor and return it to the editor.
Confidentiality
Any manuscripts received for review should be treated as confidential documents. They should not be shown or discussed with others except those authorized by the editor.
Objectivity Standard
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is not appropriate. The reviewer will give an opinion on the manuscript he/she receives clearly with supporting arguments.
Source Recognition
Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. A reviewer should also inform the editor if they find substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under review and other published papers based on their personal knowledge.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers must not have any special relationship or personal conflict with any author, company, or institution related to the purpose of the publication.
Author Assignment:
Reporting Standard: author(s) must provide clear, reliable, and comprehensive information about the process and result of their research and save data securely. The report consisting of inaccurate information and fraudulence is unethical and unacceptable.
Originality and Plagiarism: author(s) is responsible to submit a self-written and original paper. The idea must be original, not plagiarized from the idea or papers of others, and never published elsewhere. The author must credit the original author when using their work for reference and is prohibited from illegally editing the name of the respective reference.
Submission: author(s) is not allowed to submit their paper to any other publication to avoid possible multiple, duplicate, or concurrent publication. Simultaneous submission is unethical and may cause paper rejection.
Writing Mistakes: author(s) must inform the redactors in respect to any mistake found in their paper, whether it is the reviewing or editing result. Writing mistakes include but not limited to names, affiliation, reference, and others which may distort the meaning of the content. If such case happened, authors are allowed to suggest for paper revision.
Avoid Conflict of Interests: author(s) must understand about scientific publication ethics to avoid conflict of interests with other parties to ensure that their paper is safe to publish.
